The corporate world is a cold and ruthless environment. Essentially the same day Sony announced the PS5 launch window it let go dozen of EU and US staff.
It appears, according to VGC, that there has been a bit of a power struggle between Sony Interactive Entertainment America (SIEA) and Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe (SIEE). Previously, these two business units were able to act autonomously, catering to their specific regions. However, SIEA has begun to flex a bit, stepping on SIEE’s toes. All in all, SIEA is looking to take the lead on all things PlayStation.
That is some Game of Thrones level of intrigue.

Sorry to hear about those who lost their jobs and hoping that they land on their feet quickly.
