Google Stadia Games Will Not Be Cheaper Than Physical or Digital Versions on Competing Platforms

Fellow bald Phil Harrison

Phil Harrison, Google VP and Stadia lead was at a UK press event and clarified some points regarding how much games will cost on the Stadia. If you thought that games would be cheaper, since you’re streaming them rather than purchasing a physical copy or downloading code, then you will be mistaken.

As reported by Eurogamer, games on the Stadia will cost exactly the same as they do on competing platforms, whether it’s the PC, Xbox One, PS4, or future consoles, such as Xbox Scarlet, and PS5.

When pressed, Harrison clarified.

“The value you get from the game on Stadia means you can play it on any screen in your life – TV, PC, laptop, tablet, phone… I think that is going to be valuable to players.

In theory, the Stadia version of a game is going to be at the highest-possible quality of innovation and sophistication on the game engine side.”

So there you have it. You can take the game anywhere and play it on anything, and the games will simply look better on Stadia. Unless, that is, you have shitty internet, then your games will look like ass.

The Google Stadia Founder’s Edition launches November 2019.
