Masters of Doom TV Pilot in the Works

Calm down ladies, they’re taken.

The USA Network has ordered a pilot based on author David Kushner’s entertaining book, Masters of Doom, with James and Dave Franco helming as executive producers.

Kushner’s Masters of Doom is one of the finer examples of video game non-fiction, telling the story John Romero and John Carmack and how the changed the video game industry forever by creating Doom.

According to Variety if the series gets picked up, the rise of Doom would be the first installment of multiple integral moments in video game history. So perhaps the rise and fall of Atari, rivalry between Sega and Nintendo, the making of PlayStation, etc… could be future topics covered.

Let’s hope that this is treat with a certain amount of seriousness. Having read multiple books about the history of games, the subject is filled to the brim with fascinating stories.
