After months of mealy mouthed excuses of why cross-play was not available on the popular PS4 console, while competitors Microsoft and Nintendo were allowing it, Sony has finally capitulated, allowing their consumers to play along with the unwashed savages. Lord have mercy.

The large angry mob of gamers demanding cross-play on the PS4 finally got what they wanted. Starting today in an open beta, PS4 Fortnite players can compete with folks playing on the Xbox One, Switch, PC, Mac and mobile.

Perhaps this will open the floodgates, allowing other titles like Minecraft and Rocket League. Only time will tell.
