Variety is reporting that film and TV adaptions of the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive classics Altered Beast and Streets of Rage are in the works. Stories International has partnered with Circle of Confusion to produce film and television adaptations of the games.

“These are some of the most well loved SEGA games, and we are thrilled to be working with Stories to adapt them into major film and television franchises,” Lawrence Mattis of Circle of Confusion was quoted.

I find it whimsical that one of the production companies taking on this project is actually called Circle of Confusion, because that is exactly where I found myself upon hearing this news.

I’m being a pessimist though, I’m sure this is going to turn out great, right? RIGHT?
