The original Titanfall was multiplayer only and that was cool.

For Titanfall 2, the fine folks at Respawn want you to know that there’s totally going to be a single player campaign, puzzles, and you’re going to bond with your Titan this time around.

They’re dead serious about this.  So serious that they released something called a “Single Player Gameplay Vision” trailer. SO OFFICIAL!
